Founded in 1970, the Trail Blazers franchise brought basketball to the Rose City, and the city has loved this basketball team. Bill Walton got the excitement going in Portland. The Clyde Drexler era was tremendous, but the NBA 75th Anniversary Team shooting guard did not win his NBA title in Portland. Drexler, whom the Trail Blazers drafted in 1983, came to the NBA six years after Portland’s championship.
