The Chicago Bulls were one of the most successful sports franchises during the 1990s. They won six championships, and by the end of the decade, they had the third-most titles in the history of the NBA. Only the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers had more.

Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen each own most of the franchise records, and that is for good reason. Back in the 1980s, Kevin Loughery and Stan Albeck each coached the Bulls before they brought in Doug Collins.

However, Chicago did not win championships until Phil Jackson took over. It is now Billy Donovan at the helm. Get your Chicago Bulls tickets to see them take the court.

On, you can find face-value options for Bulls tickets to see them try to win their seventh NBA title.

Chicago Bulls - Team History

The Chicago Bulls basketball franchise began in 1966-67 when there were just 10 NBA teams. The Bulls were a part of the Western Division and remained in the West until 1980-81. Then, Chicago moved to the Central Division of the Eastern Conference.

The Bulls did not make an NBA Finals until 1991, even though they had the likes of Guy Rodgers, Chet Walker, Nate Thurmond, and Artis Gilmore in the early years of the franchise.

When the 1990s came, Air Jordan had officially taken over the NBA. The Bulls could have won eight consecutive championships if Jordan had not played baseball.

There were impressive players to grace the United Center hardwood for Chicago. Jordan, Pippen, Toni Kukoc, and Dennis Rodman were all instrumental in the team’s titles.

Chicago Bulls Division Rivals

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Chicago Bulls Tickets

Michael Jordan made the Bulls an instant playoff team when he was drafted, and it was just a few seasons later that the Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Bulls battled. In 1988, the Bulls beat the Cavs in the decisive fifth game of the first round.

Then in 1989, Jordan hit “The Shot” in front of more than 20,000 at Richfield Coliseum in Ohio. The Game 5 buzzer-beating shot got the Bulls the first-round series victory for the second straight season. It was not the last time Chicago took on Cleveland in the playoffs. The Bulls defeated the Cavs in 1992, 1993, and 1994. That was not the end of the rivalry, though.

When LeBron James entered the NBA, he made the Cavaliers a fantastic team early in his career. He turned into the league’s best player since Jordan, and in the 2010 playoffs, his Cavs took down the Bulls. Then, soon after LeBron returned from Miami, he took down the Bulls again in the 2015 playoffs.

Detroit Pistons vs. Chicago Bulls Tickets

It took Jordan four seasons to get past the Detroit Pistons. In 1988, Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Bill Laimbeer, Adrian Dantley, and the Pistons were better than the Bulls. Detroit continued to dominate Chicago, but in 1991, the Bulls swept the Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals. That marked the end of the Pistons’ success in the early 1990s.

New York Knicks vs. Chicago Bulls Tickets

After the Pistons were dethroned by Chicago, Patrick Ewing and the Knicks became a consistent playoff opponent for the Bulls, and Chicago tasted success again and again. From 1989 to 1996, the Bulls beat the Knicks in five of their six playoff series. The only series that Chicago lost was in 1994, when Jordan was not on the court.
